    Common passport questions

What is the EU 10-year issue rule?

Your passport must be less than 10 years old on your departure date for EU/Schengen trips.

How long must it be valid after my EU trip?

At least 3 calendar months after your return date.

Do I need 6 months on my passport?

Not always. Many non-EU countries expect 6 months’ validity, but EU/Schengen trips usually follow different rules.
